Best KFC Copycat Coleslaw

Growing up I always enjoyed eating KFC’s coleslaw, but would have never thought about knowing how to make my own. I did some internet searching a couple of years ago and tried several recipes until I found the closest and BEST tasting one with a little tweak of my own of course. Needless to say, we don’t buy it anymore. Now that I have done the legwork for you I thought I would share, since I am not one those crazy people who would NEVER share a family (or any) recipe, because it would be the end of the world….. Come on, you know at least one of those people….

Coleslaw Recipe 1024x680 Best KFC Copycat Coleslaw

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of mayonnaise

1/3 cup of granulated sugar

1/4 cup of milk

1/4 cup of buttermilk (I actually don’t use buttermilk, I use the substitute (milk & white vinegar) as I think it tastes better, plus I don’t need the extra expense since the recipe only calls for 1/4 cup).

2 1/2 tbsp of lemon juice (Fresh lemon juice is better)

1 1/2 tbsp of white vinegar

1/2 tsp of salt (I put a little more, but it all depends how you like it)

1/8 tsp of pepper  (Again, I put a little more)

1 bag of ready made coleslaw mix

Directions:

I whisk all the ingredients together and let it sit a couple of minutes before adding the coleslaw. Then I pour out the coleslaw bag and mix it in! I stick it in the fridge for at least an hour before serving, this way the flavors intensify. Trust me, you will love this recipe!

Hope you enjoy!

Your Latina,

Yami
